The whole week was so tensed, stressed (a good one) yet so fruitful and so worth every late night sleeps. Working with theater people is so different, they really honor time and I so salute them for that. After of almost two months of coordinating the PROUDLY GREEN MUSICAL- DLSU's 100th year celebration, of course that's together with the guidance of Aleli Bustamante-our production manager. Finally last June 11, 2011 the much awaited musical of La Sallites has finally happened. Students from La Salle Greenhills and La Salle alumnus and other theater actors performed before more than 2,500 attendees in SMX Convention Center. That day you can feel the La Salle spirit the "ONE SPIRIT". The Musical was directed by no less than ace director of this industry Mr. Fritz Ynfante. The Proudly Green is a musical telling how De La Salle the educational institution started its roots in the Philippines and what we're the struggles and how the Christian brothers survived it. It is divided into three acts wherein the first act narrated how the Christian brothers arrived in the shores of the island Philippines and it ended when Japanese conquered the country. The second act started on re- building the institution post war and yet again ended on the declaration of Martial Law. The third and final act started when De La Salle University opened its gates to girls and ended in the destruction of the environment. Perfectly done and conceived by Director Fritz Ynfante, the musical ended with the song Power of the Dreams- a powerful song indeed even I got teary eyed!

  1. The Proudly Green Musical would not have been as successful as it is without the help of the ever entusiastic Alvin V. Montinola! My first word to him were: "I can't promise you a big talent fee, but I can assure you of a great experience, especially with Direk Fritz Ynfante as our Director." Without batting an eyelash, Alvin just agreed and since then he was with me and every minute of the rehearsal was worth our time and effort... up until the last congratulations in the hotel where we stayed! Thank you Alvin, this one project you will be truly PROUD of. People like you continue to inspire me in keeping the faith that every single detail that we do in Production is key to our Masterpiece!
